Cancelling your order

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Plain English: If you bought ad space as a consumer — that is, not for a business — you have a legal right to change your mind for 14 days. This page says how that works, what it costs you if the sticker has already gone up, and gives you the form to do it. It is written for sponsors; listers are not buying anything, so it does not apply to them.

1. Who this applies to

The 14-day right belongs to consumers: people buying for purposes wholly or mainly outside a trade, business, craft or profession. When you buy ad space we ask you which you are, and record your answer with the order.

If you told us you were buying as a business, this right does not apply to you and the Terms govern instead. If you told us you were buying as a consumer, everything below applies. If you think we recorded the wrong answer, email [email protected] and say so — we will go with what you tell us.

You may cancel within 14 days, without giving a reason and without penalty. The 14 days run from the day after the day we confirm your order.

You do not have to justify it, you do not have to have a complaint, and it is not the same thing as the refund route in the Refund & Dispute Policy — see §7.

3. How to cancel

Tell us clearly, before the 14 days are up. Any of these is enough:

  • email [email protected] saying you are cancelling, with your order reference;
  • copy the form in §6 and send it to the same address;
  • write to us at the postal address in the footer of this site (being added — email is effective in the meantime).

A statement sent before the deadline counts even if it reaches us after it. Keep a copy: the burden of showing you cancelled in time is on you.

4. If the work has already started

Ad space is a service, and it usually starts inside the 14 days — that is the point of it. At checkout you are asked to agree that we can begin straight away, and to acknowledge what that means. It means this:

  • Nothing has happened yet. Cancel and you get everything back. In practice, if the lister has not applied the sticker, nothing has happened.
  • Part-way through. You can still cancel, and you pay a proportionate amount for what was already done — a sticker applied and displayed for six days of a thirty-day placement is roughly a fifth of it. We will show you the arithmetic, not just the number.
  • Fully performed. Once the placement period has run its course, the service is complete and the right to cancel is gone. That is the acknowledgement you gave at checkout, and it is why we ask for it explicitly rather than burying it.

Physical stickers we posted are a separate matter: if we sent you one and you cancel, send it back or tell us and we will not charge you for it.

5. When you get the money back

Within 14 days of you telling us, to the card you paid with, at no cost to you. If you agreed to immediate performance we deduct the proportionate amount from §4 and refund the rest.

6. Model cancellation form

You do not have to use this — a clear email does the job. It is here because the law says it must be available, and because some people would rather copy a form than compose a letter.

To BrandMyX, [email protected]:

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service:

Order reference: ______________________
Ordered on: ______________________
Name of consumer: ______________________
Address of consumer: ______________________
Signature (only if sending on paper): ______________________
Date: ______________________

7. This is separate from a refund claim

Cancelling is a no-reason right with a deadline. The Refund & Dispute Policy is what happens when something went wrong — no proof photo within 14 days of the sticker reaching the lister, or proof that does not meet the standard. Those refunds are automatic or decided on review, have their own clocks, and are not limited to consumers.

Using one does not use up the other, and neither affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service was not carried out with reasonable care and skill.
